Robert Phillip Haire, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024. Phil was born May 1, 1936 in Caretta, W.V., to Herman and Pauline Jackson Haire. His family later moved to West Jefferson, N.C., where he grew up.

Tony Steven Taylor, 61, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Cherokee Indian Hospital. Tony was born Nov. 1, 1963 to the late Sandi Taylor Reagan. He loved his Tarheels, his babies, and taking care of his loved ones.

LilyMay Smith Tucker, age 87, of the Wolftown/Big Y community, passed away at her residence after an extended illness on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024. She is the daughter of the late John and Ollie Smith.

Ned Armachain passed on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, in Cherokee, N.C. He was a resident of Tsali Care Center.

James McKinnley Welch, 81, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at Tsali Care Center.

Justin Moses Ammons, age 39, a lifelong resident of the Wolftown Community, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, after an extended illness.

Clyde “Bobby” Mathis, 79, of the Towstring Community, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Charlie H. and Nora Lee Henry Mathis and husband of the late Rachel Mathews Mathis.
