Joy Lee (Sissy) Allison Smith, 69, peacefully entered into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025. Born on Jan. 17, 1956, in Cherokee, N.C., Joy was the beloved daughter of the late Ronald L. and Roberta Joan Allison.

Kristin Marie Lane, age 40, of the Big Witch Community in Cherokee, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Park Ridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Edna Rowena Bradley, 76, of Cherokee, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Deweese and Edith Welch Bradley.

Otis Wayne Shaw, 54, of the Lauada community in Bryson City, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C. He is the Son of the late Chris Jean and Otis Shaw.

Edith H. McMillan Maney, 82, of Cherokee, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025. A longtime resident of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Edna Owle McMillan.

Hugh Branner Hall Jr. (Buddy), 92, of Waynesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. Mr. Hall was born in Waynesville on July 5, 1932 to the late Edith McKay Hall and Hugh Branner Hall, Sr. 

Solomon David Owl “Sonny Boy”, 82, of Cherokee, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Cherokee, N.C. on Sept. 3, 1942 to the late Quincy Adam Owl and Winne Mae Junaluskie Owl.  

Mary Jane Bigwitch Ferguson, 74, passed away Dec. 20, 2024 at Cherokee Indian Hospital surrounded by family and friends after an extended battle with Multiple Myeloma.
