Harriett Roberta Crowe Rice, age 82, passed away on Monday, Feb. 13 at Mission Hospital after a brief illness. She is the daughter of the late, Edwin Clement Endros-Crowe and Cinda Reed.

Aniyah Christine Sampson, age 9, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023.

Mary Ann Jacobs, age 87, of Cherokee N.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023. She was born on May 5, 1935, in Chicago, Ill. She lived in Cherokee; Suitland, Md.; and Chandler, Ariz. before returning to the mountains with her husband Harvey in 1998.

Henry Robert Youngdeer, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, at Mission Hospital following an extended illness.

Linda Carol Crowe, 71 years of Cherokee, N.C., passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023.  She was born on Thursday, July 12, 1951, in Cherokee, the daughter of Richard Crowe “G-pa Geet” and Berdina Powell “Granny Birdie”.

Funeral services for Frank Welch, 85, of Sisseton, S.D., were held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 at Family Life Center, Sisseton, S.D. with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating.

David Allen “Dave” Parker, 61, of Long Branch in Cherokee, N.C., passed away following an extended illness on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 while among family at the Cherokee Indian Hospital.

Phillip Owle Jr., age 59, of the Wolftown Community, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.
