Mark passed peacefully on the evening of Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Tsali Care Center. He was affectionately called Uncle Fluff by his family and Cliffy by his many friends. He was someone that could make you laugh and enjoy the moment you were in. He was an avid Cherokee Braves, Duke Blue Devils and Raiders fan.

Franklin George Hornbuckle, 53, of Cherokee, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Jerry “Jinx” Francis Parker, 74, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. Born in Cherokee, N.C., on Aug.  8, 1951, Jerry lived a big life – and lived it on his own terms. He graduated from Cherokee High School, and from there went on to build a life that took him to wild places and brought him into contact with more people than most of us could ever hope to meet.

James Wayne Maney, 84, of Whittier, N.C., went home to his Heavenly Father Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born in Tulsa, Okla. to the late Ted and Louise Martin Maney, he had resided in the local area since 1972.

Brenda Crisp Reed, 82 of Cherokee, N.C., passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, July 12, 2026 surrounded by family.

John William Lucord III, 86, of Henrico, Va., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Rosa Linda Howard Lowe, 73, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 4, 2026. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jessie Walker Howard.

Lillie Mae George Larch, 88, of Cherokee, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Tsali Care Center, surrounded by her children.
