Going forward, the Qualla Boundary Public Library and the Snowbird Community Library will operate as separate tribal programs of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) with their own budgets. 

Luke Swimmer, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) and vice president of marketing and communications at Kituwah, LLC., provided an update during Dinilawigi (Tribal Council) Reports to Council on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections early voting begins Oct. 15 for the November general election. Election Day is Nov. 3.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 26 at the Old DaVita Dialysis Center in Cherokee, N.C., for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Enrichment Center.

Each month, the One Feather will give an update on the various groups seeking federal acknowledgment as an Indian Tribe either through Congressional means or by going through the OFA (Office of Federal Acknowledgment) process.
