Pay raise lawsuit defendants responsible for own representation
Those named in a lawsuit involving pay raises for Tribal Council that occurred last fall are responsible for their own legal representation according to a resolution passed in Annual Council on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Pay raise lawsuit filed in Tribal Court
After months of threatening litigation, a lawsuit has been filed in Cherokee Tribal Court on the issue of the disputed pay raises approved by Tribal Council last fall. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians for Justice & Accountability (EBCIJA) filed the suit on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
