Groundbreaking held for new additions to Big Cove Fire Station
Ground was broken on new additions to the Big Cove Fire Station in Kolanvyi (Big Cove) on the morning of Thursday, July 24. Tribal officials of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) joined staff from Cherokee Fire & Rescue for the event.

Registered voters of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) may cast an absentee ballot for tribal elections providing they meet certain criteria and deadlines. Absentee voting is covered in Cherokee Code Sec. 161-15.

Climbingbear found not guilty on all charges
Travis Climbingbear, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), was found not guilty on all seven charges by a jury of his peers in Cherokee Tribal Court on the afternoon of July 22 with Chief Judge Monty Beck presiding.
