Unita Carrie Hyde Holcomb, 73, of Cherokee, , formerly of Robbinsville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at her residence.
A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late William Robert and Carrie Rose Hyde. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Holcomb, and her brothers, Robbie Hyde and Walter Hyde.
She was an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
She is survived by her brother, Dewalt Hyde of Robbinsville; and her sister, Edith Deyton of Robbinsville. She has several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend GD Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Mother Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm on Tuesday, at the Chapel, prior to the service.
