Maryville College junior outfielder Hannah Youngdeer, was named as a USA South 2014 Softball All-Conference selection by the league on Wednesday, April 9.
Youngdeer, an EBCI tribal member and 2011 graduate of Cherokee High School, led the Scots with a .318 batting average. She paced Maryville with eight doubles and a triple while slugging at a .435 clip. As a Fighting Scot outfielder and first baseman, Youngdeer fielded at a .994 pace committing only one error in 163 chances this season. She was a third team selection by the league’s coaches.
“We are proud of Hannah’s development throughout the season,” stated head coach Leah Hampton. “Her ability to fill defensive roles with great efficiency was overshadowed by her ability to make things happen at the plate. I look forward to the great things she can do during her senior season.”
