Kenneth Ray Adams, 75, of Sylva, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Parker and Elsie Jones Adams. A Veteran of the US Marine Corps, he also served in the National Guard. He was an avid antique dealer and collector and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren fishing and camping. He was a field inspector for McGill Engineering Associates in Asheville until his retirement.
Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Diane Bumgarner and by his wife Elizabeth Ann Harris Adams. He is survived by daughter, Jan Lindsey and her husband Ronnie of Bryson City; son, Eddie Adams and his wife Frosti of Cherokee; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Nicholson and her husband Bruce of Brevard; several nieces and nephews also survive as well as companion, Missy Beck.
A Memorial Service will be held 2pm on Saturday, Jan. 19 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Mike Farmer, David Watkins and Greg Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
