BOYS CLUB PRODUCING BIODIESEL FUEL ON SITE

The Eastern Band has partnered with the Cherokee Boys Club Shop to produce its own biodiesel fuel from waste oil and grease in a new facility recently opened and located behind the new Cherokee Transportation building and the Boys Club.  The facility can produce up to 250 gallons of clean-burning biodiesel fuel within a 24-hour period.  This fuel is environmentally friendly and will provide a large cost savings for Tribal and Club vehicles that use biodiesel fuel in their day-to-day operation.

The Boys Club will continuously collect used cooking oil for biodiesel fuel production.  If you would like to have your used cooking oil picked up for recycling purposes, call 497-5746 or call 497-9101 and ask for Donnie Owle.
