Christine Ella Arch Montano, 51, of the Wolftown Community in Cherokee, passed away on December 29, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.
Christine was the daughter to the late William “Bud” Arch and Margie Stark Arch of Cherokee, NC and the wife to Carlos Montano also Cherokee. She was a basket and beadwork artisan whose family can recount many fun stories about. They all will miss her greatly.
Christine is survived by her children, Citrus Bigwitch and Robert Ramirez of Cherokee; grandsons, Kolby Littlejohn and Eden Ze-Littlejohn; brothers, James “Weasel” Stark and wife Alice, Fred Arch and wife Darlene Harris, Bugger Arch and wife Chrissy and Bill Arch and wife Julia Becenti all of Cherokee, NC; special friend, Charlie Bigwitch; special sister, Jessica Taylor; aunts, Vangie Laney and Theresa Rattler and husband Walter.
Christine is preceded in death by her brother Charles Arch; uncles, Trinney Arch, Clayton Arch, Charles Arch and Fred Arch; aunts, Annabelle Marmon and Catherine Larch.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 1 at Cherokee Wesleyan Church with Ray Kinsland and Pastor Greg Morgan officiating. An immediate burial followed at the Oocumma Family Cemetery with Phillip Queen, Earl Martin, Buddy Arch, Buster Arch, Troy Arch, David George, Dave Jumper and Craig Arch being Pall Bearers.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family in the arrangements of services.
