Jonnie Jean Jamison, 76, Sylva, died Tuesday, February 7. She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Rev. Ernest W., Sr. and the late Altha Beasley Jamison. Jean was a receptionist with the Job link employment office and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Whittier.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Jr. and Vernon Jamison, and two sisters, Georgia Buchanan and Dorothy Deitz. Surviving are two sisters, Helen Jamison of the home and Betty Fisher of Sylva; a brother, Harold Jamison of Sylva; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva on Friday, Feb. 10 from 6- 8pm. A memorial service will be held at Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Whittier on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1pm. Rev. Steve Jamison will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
