Cherokee Indian Hospital has a new pharmacy manager.
Elizabeth Helm is from Greenville, SC. She is married and has two children.
Helm has a BS in chemistry from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC and a PharmD from Medical University of SC in Charleston, SC.
She joined the United States Public Health Service right out of school and served the Alaskan Natives (Tlingit & Haida tribes of Alaska) from 2002-06.
Helm wanted to be closer to her family and returned to work at the Bureau of Prisons in Salters, SC from 2006-09.
She came to Cherokee in January 2009 as a staff pharmacist. Helm said she loves it here and feels the patients and staff has really welcomed her.
“I have gotten so much support as I transitioned to Chief Pharmacist,” she said. “I feel blessed that I have a job that I love and am able to be near my family. I look forward to continue serving Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian community!”
Helm will continue to work on Pharmacy initiatives including Refills by Mail, Refill Line, and Just in Time.
