Stacey Elsie Calhoun Lambert, 62, of Cherokee passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 7, 2011. She was a resident of the Yellowhill community and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Calhoun and Amanda Driver Calhoun, brothers, Robert Lee and John Calhoun, and sister, Anna Marie Swayney.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Amanda Hoyle and son-in-law Jason Hoyle, and grandson, Joshua Hornbuckle, all of Cherokee. She is also survived by a sister, Lucille Cucumber of Cherokee, and sisters-in-law, Nannie Calhoun of Cherokee, and Peggy Pilkington of Bryson City.
The family received friends at Long House Funeral Home on Saturday July 9 from 5 PM to 7 PM. The funeral services were held at the Long House Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday July 10 at 2 PM. The Rev. James “Bo” Parris officiated. Burial followed in the Calhoun Family Cemetery.
Pall Bearers were Joshua Hornbuckle, Jason Hoyle, Jimmy Bradley, George Hornbuckle, Jr., Anthony Jackson, Bruce Swayney, and honorary Pall Bearer, Mike Lambert.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
