The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is scheduled for Cherokee on Friday, June 17 at the Cherokee Expo Center (the old Cherokee High School) on Acquoni Road. This year’s event will honor the memory of Madison Hornbuckle and this year’s theme is Cherokee Legends.
Entertainment will feature Brandon Crocker from Atlanta. The first lap of the Relay is the Survivors Lap. Survivors will receive commemorative 2011 tee shirts during the walk. This year’s event will kick off at 6pm and end at midnight. A special feature of Relay events is the lighting of the Luminaria in memory of those lost to cancer.
