Mary Ellen Turner, 65, of Cherokee, NC and formerly of Spartanburg Co. S.C., passed away on May 29 after an extended illness at Mission Hospitals, Mission Campus in Asheville, NC.
She was the daughter of Late Vernon Scott and surviving mother Ruth Robinson Scott of Cherokee, NC.
She is also preceded in death by her late husband Ray Junior Turner of Woodruff, S.C., daughter, Naomi Ruth Turner and brother, Jerry Scott.
Ellen is also survived by daughter Teresa and her husband Ralph “Buddy” Cooper, Brothers Heyward Scott and Danny Scott, Sisters, Ann Smith and Lorene Jones and Granddaughter Noah Zae Cooper all of Cherokee, NC.
A memorial service was held in the Chapel of Long House Funeral Home of Cherokee, NC on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 with Mr. Stanley Stribling and Mr. Jimbo Sneed officiating.
