Jim Daniel Littlejohn
Jim Daniel Littlejohn, 44, on Monday, January 25, 2010, our loved one,also known as Tattoo to many, left us to be with the Lord. Jim embraced life and lived it to the fullest and as such he embraced death. He left behind many friends, relatives and loved ones. Although his body is gone, Jim will continue to live in our hearts with all the memories, jokes and humorous ways he had of making everyone laugh.
Jim is survived by his wife of 14 years, Callie Littlejohn, his grandson Mitchell, two granddaughters Jacqueline and Gabriella, daughters Rebecca Squirrel and Mallory Littlejohn. He also leaves behind four sisters; Nellie Littlejohn, Mollie Littlejohn, Charlotte Littlejohn and Mary Jane Smith and husband Alan, three brothers; Mike Littlejohn, Burton Littlejohn, David Taylor and Brother-in-law Henry Ben, all of Cherokee. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and caretaker Sarah Ben, many nieces and nephews and a dear dear friend Gail Guilford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mollie Littlejohn, a brother Leonard Littlejohn and sister Elsie Wolfe.
Jim was a member of Acquoni Baptist Chapel where he spent many years of his life. He was a graduate of Cherokee High School, Class of 1983. He was a member of the football team and the wrestling team. After high school, Jim joined the U.S. Navy, where he spent many years “Touring” the country as he put it. He was employed by the Indian Health Service and worked in the dental clinic for many years until forced to retire due to illness.
Services for Jim will be held at the Bethabara Baptist Church at 2pm Thursday, January 28, 2010. The body will be placed in the church at 4pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 and will remain there until the service hour. Jim will be laid to rest at Piney Grove Cemetery, close to his mother and father. He will be given full military funeral and burial.
The Rev. Kinsland, Rev. Ed Kilgore and Rev. John Flute will officiate. Jim’s wrestling teammates will serve as pallbearers.
