SYLVA – Southwestern Community College is holding its 21st annual Job Fair on the Jackson campus Thursday, March 26 for students, alumni and members of the community to connect with employers in the area.
“Our Job Fair is well-organized and it attracts many employers and job seekers,” said Patty Kirkley, Career Planning and Placement Counselor at Southwestern Community College.
This recruiting event is designed to provide employers with an opportunity to inform job fair participants about their organizations, personnel needs and career paths. Southwestern invites all students, alumni and community members interested in internships, co-ops, part-time and full-time positions to attend.
The Job Fair is free for both employers and the community. The event will be held in the Burrell building on the Jackson Campus from 9 a.m.-noon. This event’s purpose is to enrich the community through building stronger bonds by connecting businesses to educated job seekers.
Southwestern Community College was founded in 1964 to provide excellent educational opportunities for students who want to further their education. One of the college’s institutional goal is to “develop cooperative community-based relationships which contribute to the cultural, economic, educational, and social betterment of the region and will prepare citizens to live, learn and work in a diverse global setting.”
The college continuously strives to achieve that goal through the annual job fair, which helps students thrive and employers in the community expand their personnel.
