THANKS

Thanks to everyone for their long hours of hard work and cooperation during the recent snow, ice, flooding, and power outages.  Everyone’s cooperation made these difficult situations better.  Thanks to all the Police, Fire, Rescue, Dispatchers, EMS and Boys Club personnel and School staff for their long hours.  Thanks to Cherokee DOT for their work on the roads and highways and thanks to the many agencies and individuals who gave their time and energy to keep us safe.

We also thank Duke Energy and their contracted agencies for helping to restore power to the many homes and businesses that lost power during the inclement weather.

CHILDREN’S HOME THANKS

The Cherokee Children’s Home would like to thank Winnona Rich from Georgia and Granny’s Kitchen for their recent contributions.  Thank you for sharing from your heart and taking time to think of our children.

MORE THANKS

The family of Anita Driver Ellwood would like to take the time to thank everyone who helped out during Anita’s recent illness including Cherokee Tribal EMS, Cherokee Emergency Room staff, Memorial Mission staff, Cherokee Hospital In-patient staff, Cherokee Dialysis Center staff, Tsali Care Center staff, Lane Smoker, Lossiah Women singers, The Long Family, Rock Springs Baptist Church choir, Joe Wolfe, Ed Kilgore, Big Cove Council Members, and all those who stopped by to visit.  A special thanks to each family member who took turns sitting all hours of the day and night. We could not have done it without all of you. We apologize if we left any names off the list; just know that we ask God to send a special blessing to each of you. Thank You ~Anita Driver Ellwood & Family~

Anita Driver Ellwood is a family member of many Club and School employees.  The Club also wishes her a quick and complete recovery.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

The staff of the Boys Club sends it condolences to the friends and family of Hank Littlejohn who passed away Monday morning. Hank was the father of Mark Littlejohn who works in the Club’s CBC Printing Department.  Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.

NANCY TAYLOR TO RETIRE

Nancy “Jim” Taylor is retiring from the Boys Club after more than 25 years of service.  Nancy currently serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Bus and Truck Department.  Her last day with the Club will be Friday, Feb. 8.  We congratulate Nancy and wish her well in her retirement.  Nancy, her daughter Kitty, and her husband Mernie, reside in the Birdtown Community.

CLUB STILL NEEDS YOUR USED COOKING OIL

The Boys Club still needs your used cooking oil for the production of biodiesel fuel.  If you cannot bring it by the Shop, call Donnie Owle to make arrangements to have it picked up (497-9101).  Do your part to recycle!

GET WELL WISHES!

Please keep Martha Brindle of the Club’s Administration Department; and Roy Mathews of the Club’s Construction and Facilities Department, in your thoughts and prayers.  We wish them a speedy recovery!
