CLUB CONFERENCE ROOM
ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE CHEROKEE BOYS CLUB
- The Club has provided educational, vocational, and leadership training opportunities for thousands of Cherokee youth.
- In the 48 years since the Tribe incorporated the Club, over $364 million dollars have been paid in wages and benefits to Club employees, and the Club has earned over $748 million dollars in revenue from services performed.
- The Club has provided a home for over 1,740 youth in the Children’s Home since it opened in 1970.
- The Club provides the Norman Maney Recreation Park, the Blythe Youth Center/Conference Room, and assists the school and community with academic, athletic, cultural, recreational and other youth programs.
- The Cub has purchased $153,645,182 worth of buildings, equipment and vehicles. The book value of these, less accumulated depreciation is $132,763,797.
- The Tribe owns the Club. As of June 30, 2012, total assets were $149,702,066. Total liabilities were $13,046,287 leaving net assets of $136,655,779.
- The Club has purchased approximately 112 acres of land on the Reservation. The property is being used for past, present, and future expansion of Tribal and Club projects.
- For the year ended June 30, 2012, the Club had revenue of $36,903,112 and expenditures of $36,934,800 for a deficit of $31,688. Any undesignated surplus is used to make payments on Club buildings, vehicles, equipment and for educational projects for Cherokee youth.
- The Club provided classroom and office space for Southwestern Community College’s Cherokee Center, several Tribal departments, a building for 109,000 square feet of warehouse space for Tribal programs, the facilities for the Tribal Juvenile Programs, and office space for Child Support Enforcement and the Tribal Division of Housing and Community Development.
10. The Club administers scholarships in memory of Vernon Hornbuckle, Jamy Lambert, Bertha Saunooke, Joe Bennes, Annie Kaviuk and Ralph and Eula Beck.
11. The Club operates a program to perpetuate seed for Cherokee corn.
12. The Club provides vocational opportunities for many enrolled members from local high schools and enrolled college students through its On-the-Job training program.
13. The Club and numerous Club employees donate many services to the School, the Tribe and the Community.

BOYS CLUB SHOP NEEDS USED COOKING OIL
If you need a way to dispose of your used cooking oil, please contact the Boys Club’s Shop Department at 497-9101. The Club and the Tribe have started a program to recycle this cooking oil to produce biodiesel fuel for use in Tribal and Club vehicles. Biodiesel fuel is clean burning and costs less than diesel fuel.

Tammy Bradley, Manager of the Agelink Child Care and Afterschool Program, wants to thank everyone who purchased soft drinks from them recently. The fundraising event cleared approximately $2,200 between both programs and was used to fund the Christmas activities and to purchase gifts for the children.
CHEROKEE CHILDREN’S COALITION NEWS
The Cherokee Children’s Coalition is working with the Cherokee Preservation Foundation on a Cherokee Language project that will provide language learning materials to all the child care programs.
There are currently six child day care programs in Cherokee that can participate in these meetings. The next Children’s Coalition Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Agelink School Age Conference Room at 11a.m. Anyone is welcome to attend.
