The Cherokee Diabetes Program is hosting three walks in recognition of World Diabetes Awareness Day (Nov. 14). There is no cost for the walks and there will be t-shirts for the first 50 participants at each site.
* Nov. 14 at 10am, start at the Cherokee Diabetes Program
* Nov. 15 at 10am, start at the Little Snowbird playground
* Nov. 16 at 9am, start at the Cherokee County Clinic
“These walks are in honor of all those who live with diabetes and those who have lost limbs and life to complications of diabetes,” said Sally Penick, Cherokee Diabetes Program manager. “By promoting awareness of diabetes we hope to encourage healthy lifestyles and to prevent diabetes for some.”
