Congratulations to the Varsity Braves Football team who defeated Smoky Mountain High School Friday night 32-21. This was a great way to open the season! The Braves will host Mitchell at home this Friday night (August 24). Come out and support our school and our youth!
SEQUOYAH CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT
The 7th Annual Sequoyah Classic Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, August 23 and Friday, August 24 at Sequoyah National Golf Club. To become a tournament sponsor or to register to play in this tournament, please call Monica “Tigger” Lambert at 497-5009 for more information.
Proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Cherokee Children’s Home, Bill Taylor Scholarship Endowment and the Cherokee Youth Center (Boys and Girls Club of America).

The Club will hold its election for Board Members to serve the two-year term beginning on October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2014 this Thursday (August 23) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Club Lobby.
You do not have to be a Club employee to vote in this election. Anyone who is a Club Member (you must have attended Cherokee Middle or High School) is eligible to become a Board Member and to vote in the Club Election. Present your Boys Club membership card when you sign in to vote. If you do not have a Club membership card, you can get one at the Club’s Information Desk.
The newly elected Board members will convene on September 4 to select two outside business people to serve on the Board. The High School student body will select a student representative to serve on the Board and Council appoints a representative (currently Perry Shell).

CLUB VEHICLES USING BIOFUEL MANUFACTURED BY CLUB STAFF
Boys Club buses and roadside mowing equipment are now being fueled by biodiesel fuel manufactured on site by Club Shop employees. As of this date 750 gallons of fuel has been produced from used cooking oil provided by local businesses and private citizens. The Club is encouraging each of its departments to recycle and to implement green practices where applicable.
