Helen Enloe Owle, 79, of Cherokee, NC, died April 12, 2012 at Cherokee Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Fauline and Enoch Harris and the late Boyd Enloe. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Macie Middleton, Wanda Watson, Alice Woodard and brothers, Boyd Enloe, Jr. and Gene Harris.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Owle, children, Wayne Owle, Bea Taylor and husband Truman, Bobby Owle and significant other Sherri Hornbuckle, Boyd Owle and wife Cathie, Lloyd Owle and wife Sharon, Vicki Bushyhead and husband Dave, Jim Owle and wife Charlene, and stepson Don Lambert and wife Barbara, 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren all of Cherokee, one sister Ruth Patterson of Thomasville, NC, special friend, Valerie Welch, and special caregiver, Victoria Owle.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Bethabara Baptist Church, with Reverend Eddie Sherrill and Reverend Bo Parris officiating. Burial will follow at Bob Owle Cemetery in the Birdtown Community. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at 4pm Saturday at Bethabara Baptist Church.
