The gates at Kituwah are now open Monday through Friday from 9am – 3:30pm. This action to limit access in the evenings and weekends is necessary to help prevent vandalism and damage from “off-roading” and driving on soggy farm roads.

Tribal farm roads are in good shape in the summer, but in the winter the roads become muddy and driving on them causes damage. (Photo by Sarah McClellan-Welch)
If access is needed at another time other than these “open hours”, contact the Tribal Historic Properties Office – Russ Townsend (828) 226-1021 or Johi Griffin (828) 788-1601. Efforts are underway to protect the land and roads at Cooper’s Creek Farm as well.
