Nell W. Rattler, 99, of Cherokee, passed away on July 31, 2011 at Cherokee Indian Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on October 15, 1911, and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. When she was able, she was active at the Cherokee Senior Center, Tsali Manor, and participated in the Senior Olympics and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Rogers and husband Alvin, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is also survived by two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents, John Will and Jane Talalah Will, her husband, Wilson Rattler; her son, John Rattler; her daughter, Louise Rattler; her brothers, James Will and David Will; and a sister, Luzene Rattler.
The family will receive friends before the service on August 2, 2011 at Rock Springs Baptist Church from 1-2pm. The funeral service will begin at 2pm and burial will follow at the Rattler Family Cemetery.
The Rev. Greg Morgan, Rev. James “Bo” Parris, and Al Rogers will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Bruneel, Matthew Bruneel, Glenn Rogers, Larry Blythe, John Henry Maney and Frank Taylor.
