The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has made three arrests associated with a series of residential and commercial burglaries that have recently occurred. These crimes were investigated by Detective Ronnie Mathis and sufficient evidence was uncovered to lead to the following charges being filed against the listed suspects:
Joseph Chad Franks, 17, listing a Garland Buchanan Road address in Sylva, NC, was arrested and charged with nine counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, two counts of Felony Attempting to Break and Enter, one count of Misdemeanor Attempting to Break and Enter, eight counts of Injury to Real Property, one count of Felony Safecracking, eleven counts of Felony Larceny of a Firearm, two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a Coin Operated Machine, seven counts of Felony Larceny, one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, one count of Possession of Marijuana, and one count of Resisting Arrest. His bond is currently set at $78,000 and he is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center.
Zachary Martin Bombay, 16, listing a June Apple Drive address in Sylva, NC, was arrested and charged with nine counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, two counts of Felony Attempting to Break and Enter, one count of Misdemeanor Attempting to Break and Enter, eight counts of Injury to Real Property, one count of Felony Safecracking, eleven counts of Felony Larceny of a Firearm, two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a Coin Operated Machine, and seven counts of Felony Larceny. His bond is currently set at $80,000 and he is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center.
Devin Caleb McLean, 17, listing a Haywood Road address in Dillsboro, NC, was arrested and charged with nine counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, two counts of Felony Attempting to Break and Enter, one count of Misdemeanor Attempting to Break and Enter, eight counts of Injury to Real Property, one count of Felony Safecracking, eleven counts of Felony Larceny of a Firearm, two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a Coin Operated Machine, and seven counts of Felony Larceny. His bond is currently set at $82,000 and he is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center.
These property crimes included burglaries at Bradley’s General Store, the Moose Lodge, Shirley’s Boutique, Haircut’s by Jill, Engineered Refrigeration Systems, the Jackson County School of Alternatives, Computer Nerds, The Well House, and several residential burglaries from varying areas of the county.
