Adonna Wolfe, 46, of Cherokee, died Jan. 14, 2011 at Cherokee Indian Hospital following a long illness. She was a resident of Bryson City and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Cherokee. Adonna was a skillful basket maker and was a member of the Qualla Arts and Crafts Co-op.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli Wolfe and Irene Pheasant Wolfe; a brother, William Phillip Wolfe; and a sister, Marion Walkingstick.
She is survived by her significant other, John Decoteau; daughter, Mary Lynn Decoteau; son, Cody John Decoteau; sisters, Mary Lambert, Pearl Wolfe, Berdina Wolfe, all of Cherokee, Alice Fortney of Waynesville; and brothers, Robert Wolfe and Glen Wolfe, both of Cherokee.
A service was held on Monday, Jan. 17 at Macedonia Baptist Church, and burial was in the Wolfe Cemetary in Big Cove. The Rev. Dan Conseen and the Rev. James “Bo” Parris officiated. Pallbearers were Melvin Lambert, Travis Wolfe, and Billy Jack Crowe.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangement.
