LANDRUM, SC – The Cherokee Lady Braves won the girls championship at the 17th Annual Battle at the Border basketball tournament with a 77-46 win over Landrum on Friday, Dec. 30. The Lady Braves won all three games in the tournament including wins over Spartanburg Day (66-48) and Blue Ridge, SC (73-42).
Pooh King, Lady Braves senior point guard, was named Tournament Most Valuable Player. Tori Teesateskie, Lady Braves sophomore guard, and Raylen Bark, Lady Braves freshman guard, were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Braves went 1-2 on the tournament with a 77-52 win over High Point. They lost to Powdersville (87-72) and Spartanburg Christian Academy (65-51). Tye Mintz, Braves junior guard, was named to the All-Tournament team.
