Derwin Michael Appleton, 42, of Cherokee passed away at home on Dec. 17, 2012. He was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Appleton.
He is survived by his mother, LaVonda Gregory; his daughter, Natasha Houston; sisters, Trina Appleton, and Loretta Gregory; nieces, Maiya Davis, Kalia Reed, and one nephew, Kirk Reed.
The family will receive friends at the Long House Funeral Home Chapel on Dec. 20 from 11am – 2pm. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2pm with Ray Kinsland officiating. A burial will follow at the Maney Cemetery with Vincent Maney, Gary Maney, Phineas Maney, Danny Maney, Zacceus Maney and Urian Maney acting as Pall Bearers.
Long House Funeral Home is assisting the family in the arrangements of services.
