John Boyd Owle, 66, of Whittier, passed away January 24, 2011 after a period of declining health. He was a beloved father who loved his family and friends and was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church. He was the manager of Maggeni Chevrolet for twenty years.
He was an avid Raiders fan, loved bowling, enjoyed taking photos, and especially loved riding his Harley with his friends and working on his bike.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Silk Owle of Fort Yates, ND; daughter, Johnelle Owle of Bismarck, ND; son, Devon Boyer Owle, of Fort Hall, Idaho; grandchildren, Crystal Schmidt, Samantha Schmidt, Nicholas Schmidt, Cola Boyer, Natika Boyer, and Tia Boyer. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Owle Rose; nephew, Albert D. Rose, Jr. and niece, Rhonda K. Rose, all of Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. William Owle, and mother, Stella McCoy Owle.
The funeral service is planned for Thursday, January 27, 2010 at 2 PM at Bethabara Baptist Church in Cherokee. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The pastor, Rev. Eddie Sherrill and the Rev. James”Bo” Parris will officiate and burial will follow at Birdtown Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be Devon Boyer Owle, Nicholas Jonathan Schmidt, Albert Rose, Allan McCoy, Robin Lambert, Norman McCoy, Tommy Cabe, Tince Cabe, and Dylan Rose.
The family requests that friends and relatives please visit and send any food gifts to the Kathy Owle Rose residence on 91 Katie Lambert Rd. 2nd Drive left. starting Thursday January 26, 2011 at 5PM.
