Charles Crowe, an EBCI tribal member, will be inducted into the Burke County Sports Hall of Fame according to The News Herald. The induction ceremony will occur at the Collett Street Recreation Center in Morganton on Feb. 4. Crowe, known as “Inky” by family and friends, was an All-American halfback in 1961 and 1962 when he played for the North Carolina School for the Deaf. Tickets will be available for the induction event at the door for $15 for a 6:15pm reception and a 7pm banquet.
