Two meetings are set for Thursday, April 16 at the Yellowhill Community Club building for a concluding comment and discussion session on the draft action steps coming out of the EBCI Land Needs Assessment.  The first meeting will be from 11:30am – 1pm with lunch provided, and the second will be from 4:30-6pm with snacks provided.

Draft recommendations include steps making it easier for EBCI tribal members to take advantage of farm programs, starting a land trust to protect important land off-Boundary, better brand Cherokee farm products, and developing cultural tourism sites – for instance, the Nikwasi-Cowee Cultural Corridor in Macon County – around the region.

This project is sponsored by the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee (LTLT) and underwritten by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation.
